Classic Trials competition, Kainga Classic Trial, Kainga Rd, between Kainga and Brooklands Canterbury, held on Jan 17th 2010.
The course was marked out / designed by Mel Banks and Alan Mason.
The Trial started prompt at 10am with over 30 riders, the start of a new season with a rainy day, however it didn't dampen the sprits of the riders just my camera, so a big thank you to Charlotte Brown who as you can see has taken some really great photographs.
Most of the sections had tight tricky turns, short, awkward drops offs and climbs, but even with the rain there was plenty of grip to be had for the fist few laps. Even with some wear on the sections the was enough grip, but the best technique was a good blast of speed and this gave rise to some impressive rides.
In all another great day of classic motorcycle trials in Canterbury.
Very Important on a wet day the BBQ, thank you Peter McDonald.
If I have spelt your name wrong, or ballsed up completely, let me know, plus as always I'm missing a few names, so help me out, just send me an Email.
Thanks.

Starting Classic Trials / Observed Trials

If you're thinking about getting into Trials and having some fun on a old trials bike why not come along and see what it's all about.
Riders need good balance, throttle control and skill to negotiate tough hazards or 'sections', such as rock piles, stream beds, twists and turns over tree roots and hill climbs. There is no real speed component and riders are marked on their ability to ride the course without stopping or putting a foot down. Riders choose a level suitable for them and their bike, the emphasis will be on a fun ride without breaking bike or body.
Its the cheapest motorcycle sport to get into and you can take it to any level you want.
So come along and see what it's all about.
