Thirty plus riders turned up on a grey day for our traditional venue on the banks of the Ashley river near Rangiora.
The Waikuku Trial started prompt at 10am with eight varied sections and four laps, which where well marked out / designed by John Beresford, John Simons and Dick Gardener.
Section 1 set in the trees and scrub bush, plenty of tight turns, fallen trees and and at the end a drop into a muddy creek with a very tight exit.
Sections 2 - 5 also set in the trees and on the bank, plenty of tricky turns, a few short steep climbs and drops, it seamed that there was plenty of grip to be had.
Section eight rode ok up on the banks but there was not much grip to be found in the river, a mixture of pea gravel and sand, this made it though for the river exits, they also became slippery as water carried onto them.

Another brilliant day of classic motorcycle trials in Canterbury.
