Classic Trials (but open to all) competition, Pleasant Point Observed Trials, South Canterbury Motorcycle Club Centenary, McKnights Property, Chisholm Road, South Canterbury, held on Oct 25th 2009.
The course was on the bank above the motocross track, with 8 sections, 4 laps, which had been marked out / designed, with care (quite a few new riders), by Rob Stowell, Alan Duthie, and John Philp.
The Trial started at 9am with about 25 riders and a good crowd of spectators, helped by the sunshine no doubt. Two or three tricky sections, with lots of steep banks, but the most popular section of the day, was the Sky tv film crew section!
I hope South Canterbury Motorcycle Club will start having regular trials, as this was such a great success, it would be such an asset to Trials in the South Island, well done everyone. As always its good to see the pre 65's, new riders, and what a time Andy and Kendall had on the chair.

If you're thinking about getting into Trials and having some fun on a old trials bike why not come along and see what it's all about.
Riders need good balance, throttle control and skill to negotiate tough hazards or 'sections', such as rock piles, stream beds, twists and turns over tree roots and hill climbs. There is no real speed component and riders are marked on their ability to ride the course without stopping or putting a foot down. Riders choose a level suitable for them and their bike, the emphasis will be on a fun ride without breaking bike or body.
Its the cheapest motorcycle sport to get into and you can take it to any level you want.
So come along and see what it's all about.
